Why Is Busyness Not Natural?

As a surgeon, I’ve spent countless hours in high-pressure situations, often surrounded by anxious patients, families, and colleagues. I’ve experienced firsthand how the relentless demands of life can lead to a restless, busy mind—a state that feels anything but natural. From my experience, I believe that reconnecting with our heart—and True Source—is the key to rediscovering calmness and peace, even in the busiest moments of our lives.

The Illusion of Busyness

Take a moment to observe your mind. Is it calm and peaceful, or are your thoughts jumping from one topic to another, like a restless monkey swinging from branch to branch? Many of us live with this busy mind, mistaking it for productivity, but they are not the same. You can accomplish many tasks in a day and still approach them with calmness and clarity. What drains us is not the workload itself, but the restless and scattered state of our minds.

This mental busyness has become so normal that we rarely question it. Yet, if we look at nature, it tells a different story. Trees grow steadily and patiently. Animals fulfill their needs with purpose and calm. Nature doesn’t rush or overthink, and yet, everything gets done in its own time.

Why Does Mental Busyness Feel Wrong?

Unlike the calm flow of nature, our minds are often in overdrive—planning, worrying, and replaying the past. This constant chatter pulls us away from the present moment and creates a sense of imbalance.

Even at rest, studies show that our brain consumes a significant portion of our body’s energy. When our thoughts are restless and scattered, this energy demand increases, affecting our entire well-being. The result? We feel tense and exhausted, even when we haven’t physically exerted ourselves. In contrast, calmness restores balance, helping us feel more aligned with our natural state—calm, patient, and present.

The Heart’s Role in Finding Calm and Peace

True peace begins in the heart. When our hearts are open, we naturally feel a sense of balance and calm, and the busy chatter in our minds begins to settle. Mental busyness, however, often distracts us, keeping us caught up in endless thoughts and disconnected from the present.

The key is not to stop thinking or working altogether—it’s to open our hearts and let the blessings of True Source flow in. When True Source’s blessings fill our heart with calmness and peace, we naturally begin to let go of burdens and unnecessary tension. This inner peace creates a ripple effect. As our heart feels calm, our mind becomes less busy, even as we continue our daily tasks. This connection allows us to work and live with gratitude and clarity.

The Cost of a Busy Mind

A busy mind doesn’t just affect our mental energy; it also disconnects us from our heart and natural state. This imbalance leaves us feeling stressed, fatigued, and unfulfilled, no matter how much we achieve. Interestingly, doing nothing doesn’t solve this problem. Even when we’re physically still, our minds can stay busy, keeping us in a state of restlessness.

The key lies in opening the heart. When we let True Source’s Blessings fill our hearts, we feel peaceful, grateful, and calm. We will feel lighter even on the busiest days, helping us approach responsibilities with clarity and balance.

My Story of Finding Calm

As a surgeon, I’ve faced countless moments of stress, especially during the pandemic. Long hours of work, the weight of anxious patients and families, and the demands of performing surgeries in challenging conditions often left my mind racing with worries.

But everything changed when I began opening my heart to True Source. By letting True Source’s Blessings fill my heart, I found a calmness and peace that no external circumstance could disrupt. Gratitude replaced frustration, and joy returned to my work. Through this practice, I was able to approach even the most demanding situations with calmness.

Reconnecting with What’s Natural

Living with a busy mind—constantly racing and overthinking—is not our natural state. It creates tension, stress, and a feeling of imbalance. What is natural is living with a calm and peaceful heart, where we feel grounded, balanced, and connected to the flow of life.
By reconnecting with our heart and letting True Source’ Blessings flow into our heart, we will discover the peacefulness that is meant to be our way of being. Like the trees that grow steadily without rushing or the lion that fulfills its needs and rests with ease, we too are designed to live with balance and calmness.

When we open our hearts, surrender our burdens, and experience gratitude, we align ourselves with this natural state. Calmness and peace from the heart help us approach our daily lives with clarity and lightness. Even while working or fulfilling responsibilities, we can feel this inner calm, making each moment more meaningful and fulfilling.

A Natural Way of Living

Living naturally doesn’t mean avoiding tasks or responsibilities—it means embracing heart-centered living. When we open our hearts to True Source and let its blessings flow, we find a deep sense of calm and peace that carries us through life with ease.
Reconnect with your heart. Let the Blessings of True Source touch your heart and fill it with calmness and peace. Discover that even while fulfilling your daily tasks and responsibilities, you can feel calm, peaceful, and grateful.
